This room has an outside entrance for a pool and entertainment area but also doubles as the guest bathroom because of its adjacency to the Guest Bedroom. I wanted to create an interesting but fresh room. For me this room has the feel of a lake cabin we may have all stayed in over our lifetime. It will be brand new construction, but I was trying to keep it a little old school lake cabin.

I think the pebbles on the floor work for many reasons, first safety for kids coming in from the Pool area and also feeling that smooth river rock texture underfoot throws you back to your youth for the adults. I can remember so many experiences as a child with wet feet and walking on sand, rocks or even the sidewalk carrying a treat from the concession stand and thinking this was the best day ever(until my brother took my treat and ate it in front of me) . You know the days when you had nothing to do all day but just have fun! There is definitely a play-fullness that I wanted people to experience in this small bathroom.
We will be installing a soft green grass cloth above the wainscoting detail. The wainscoting detail will have slight gaps between the thicker 6 inch boards again to feel like imperfect detailing that adds more charm to the room.
As this bathroom gets installed I will come back and show you the final install- I can’t wait. Should be in a few months.
This is what inspired the vanity design.

This is a great sink we will be doing on a lower vanity. The vanity will be finished a washed green with some undertones showing through the semi transparent stain
