Norman Design Group Accessory shopping

Resourcing is a lot of fun for projects.  You never know what you will come across when you are out discovering new artifacts!  I would like to share with you, a few of the items/techniques I love to use when I am on the hunt!  Honestly, when selecting accessories you might have a 70% chance of knowing where they will be placed.  The really fun part is when you place an item where you never imagined it would go and it completes the room!

My approach for clients is - If I like it I bring it, if it does not find a home, we just bring it back to the showroom.  You always want and need the piece that you left behind.   Give your designer a budget or have him develop a budget or allowance for you. Remember, always keep an open mind!

These wonderful fossils are great for Entry Tables or Bookcases to name a few…

These corals add great texture.  I have a resource for incredible rubber corals, which are the environmentally conscious choice- and they look fantastic!

Antique corbels from a building could be used for bookends, or just as great artifacts of interest in a book case, cocktail table, or entry table.  I also keep an open mind of how things like these could be installed on the walls and items placed on top as interest.

Also keep in mind that things can be created into other interior elements, like these great consoles that where recently transformed into larger bookcases.  Shown here starting to get there form.
